Designer – Mijeong Park
Mijeong Park, the founder and designer of her namesake brand, began her journey in Los Angeles in 2015.
She was born in Tongyeong, a small coastal town in southern Korea, where her father was a master craftsman who designed and created **Najeonchilgi - traditional Korean lacquerware inlaid with mother-of-pearl. Growing up surrounded by his quiet artistry, she developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and refined detail.
After studying Fashion Design and Art History at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Park worked as a designer for several Korean brands before moving to Los Angeles, where she continued her career in fashion. In the summer of 2015, an unexpected trip inspired her to establish her own label, Mijeong Park.
Park finds inspiration in solitude. She enjoys reading essays and books on architecture and interiors, listening to music, and spending time in nature. With a tomboyish sensibility and a dislike for excess, she gravitates toward what is relaxed, understated, and quietly elegant. Her designs reflect that same spirit - simple yet refined, modest yet confident, honest and enduring.
**Najeonchilgi is a traditional Korean craft that involves delicately cutting mother-of-pearl and embedding it onto lacquered wood surfaces. Known for its intricate beauty and disciplined precision, this artistry continues to inform Park’s design philosophy - one that values simplicity, balance, and authenticity.
Brand Philosophy & Minimalism
Mijeong Park embodies Refined modern design with California ease.
Her collections balance sophistication and quiet simplicity, focusing on timeless design, functionality, and comfort.
In an age of abundance, it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters. Park believes in simplifying life - and clothing is part of that process. Her designs prioritize comfort and practicality, made to be worn anywhere, anytime. Decorative details are pared back, while thoughtful construction ensures durability and ease.
In the past, garments were cherished and passed down through generations. While that tradition has faded, Park finds joy in creating pieces that endure - items customers return to year after year. When someone says, “Your clothes are my everyday uniform,” or “I wore it so often it finally wore out - so I bought it again,” she considers it the highest compliment.
Park encourages a mindful wardrobe: choose only what you need, and wear it often. It’s a small act of simplicity that matters - for this generation and the next.
